Our Robotics Program uses fun, hands-on projects to get each participating child’s creative juices flowing. They learn how to build and program robots with LEGO® bricks and software, all while making friends, developing new skills, and having a great time. For many it is the highlight of their week. These types of activities fully engage and challenge our children, and expose them to careers in engineering, computer programming, or science. It also insures that our at-risk youth, who are socially and economically disadvantage, are afforded an opportunity to experience technology and creativity. In each Robotics Class, our children work together to plan and build a new robot using LEGO® bricks, letting their creativity and imaginations loose. Along the way, they learn science and engineering concepts, such as how pulleys, levers, and motors work. This is imaginative play.

Reasons Why Robotics is an Important Program for At-Risk Children and Teens

  • Unique curriculum – The children have a  blast creating robots, while they are  learning practical skills.

  • Creative problem solving – In each Robotics  Class, our children participate in creative and challenging activities that encourage a love of science, technology, and engineering, at an early age.

  • Fun, hands-on activities – Our interactive exercises engage kids’ hands, as well as their minds – great for children who learn in different ways or have difficulty learning because of ADHD/ADD or other disabilities.

  • Ongoing communication – It gives our kids a chance to express themselves in a relaxed setting.
